World Museum Day is celebrated every year on May 18 (May 29, 1403). The theme of this day this year was "Museums for Education and Research", which emphasizes the vital role of cultural institutions in providing an educational-research experience.

Museums are vital places for cultural exchange and enrichment, as well as the development of peaceful coexistence and cooperation between nations and societies. Since 1977, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) has celebrated World Museum Day every year on May 18 to pay tribute to the international museum community. This day encourages people to visit museums dedicated to many fields of human endeavor such as natural history, archeology, art, astronomy, etc.
